Young People & Families Mediation

We all experience conflict at some point in our lives, Relationships between family members can come under strain at different times and for many different reasons. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, mums, dads, children and young people may all experience difficulties in getting along or communicating with one another.

When disagreements become difficult to manage, it can be hard to really hear what the other person is saying. This can lead to frustration, misunderstandings, and assumptions about each other. Conflict can quickly escalate and become very distressing, not only for those directly involved but for the wider family too.

Our professionals are qualified mediators and systemic family therapy practitioners who use a combination of mediation and systemic family therapy skills to support families through difficult conversations. They provide a safe, impartial, and supportive space where family members can talk openly, listen to one another and begin to understand different perspectives.

This service is not counselling or traditional family therapy. Instead, it brings together mediation and systemic family therapy approaches to help families explore the issues affecting their relationships, understand patterns of communication and behaviour, and consider different ways of relating to one another.

Our practitioners can help family members to have the difficult conversations that can often end in upset or conflict. By supporting people to hear and understand each other, the aim is to reduce conflict, improve communication and work together towards more positive relationships in the future.

Currently we are incredibly proud to provide our service free of charge.
